Childhood Favorite’s Week: Spaghetti and Meat Sauce

Did somebody say pasta?

Most kids love pasta! Why? For children it is an opportunity to get sauce all over their face and slurp with long noodles. Can’t you see the awesome? Anyway, spaghetti and meat sauce is one of my favorite childhood meals. There is nothing more comforting than a hot bowl of pasta and meaty sauce.

What you will need:

Pasta and Meat Sauce
Pasta and Meat Sauce

1 Sweet Italian Sausage

1 Hot Italian Sausage

1/2 of pound Ground Beef

1/2 cup Diced Onion

1/2 cup Diced Red Peppers

1/2 cup Roasted Red Peppers

1 bottle of prepared tomato sauce

5 Sliced Caprini Tomatoes

2 Tsp Minced Garlic

1/8 Tsp of Salt

1/8 Tsp of Pepper

1/8 Tsp of Oregano

2 Tbsp of Chopped Parsley

Prep:

Remove the casing from the hot and sweet italian sausage.

Cook:

Add the hot italian sausage, sweet italian sausage, and ground beef to a skillet on medium heat. Break the meat up into crumbles. Cook the meat until there is no rawness visible in the meats. Then add minced garlic, red peppers, roasted red peppers, and onions to the meat. Cook for 2-3 minutes and add prepared tomato sauce.

Add salt, oregano, and pepper to the sauce. Stir and let the sauce simmer for 15 minutes covered.

Serve:

Serve the sauce over pasta. Add parsley for a garnish.
